West Bridgford

Modern History

In the final three weeks of the course until next September, we shall be examining the issues surrounding Edward Viii's abdication, the failure of appeasement, the impact of war on British society, and asking ourselves if Hitler hadn't lived would there still have been a war.

Hopefully there will also be time to note, critically, landmarks  in  the  developments in English education, women’s emancipation. Demographic change and the growth of trade unions. There will, of course be GCSE papers to look at so that we can, at least empathise with the younger generation of 16 year old boys and girls who will have it all to do in a few weeks time.
